Call me crazy, but I just registered for the Chicago Marathon on October 10th. I tried to sign up for the marathon last year, but was too late. This year I will do it. I'm excited. I'll need all the motivation I can get.

Tomorrow it's 18 holes of golf. I haven't been on a golf course in probably 18 years. Being 30 that meant I was 12 when I last played. Last night my father and I went to the driving range and he gave me a crash course in how to hit the little white ball. Years back I swore that I'd never be seen on a golf course. But last night I surprised the hell out of myself. I enjoyed the driving range. We'll see how tomorrow goes. If things go well I might be willing to work on this game. I figure it would be something nice to be able to do with my two brothers and father.

Listening to: Mark Hollis - (Mark Hollis sang with Talk Talk. Without Talk Talk I doubt there'd be a Radiohead. Without Kind of Blue or In A Silent Way there would be no Talk Talk. This album came out years ago but I tracked it down through othermusic.com, the greatest independent music site on the internet. This is a beautiful album and well worth the import price I paid.)

Feeling like I need to update this damn thing, but I've been a lazy slacker these past few weeks when it come to things web and creative related. Last night I contemplated killing the site for a bit, as in taking it down for a summer break. I decided to keep it up, especially with all the visits I get from people looking to find ways to remove blueberry stains. No shit, when I look at my web stats more people visit this site searching for the word blueberry than any other word. Makes perfect sense to me.

And why am I feeling all slacker? Can't say. Maybe it's the summer. Never been a huge fan of the summer sun. I love the sun and all, but I can do without the heat and humidity. Lou sings questioningly in my head, "Who loves the sun?"

However, the site will get a radical redesign within the next month or so. I was thinking of using it to only focus on album reviews. An old friend suggested that I concentrate on writing reviews instead of this nonsense. The bluebird that sings to me whistles, "Slacker." Few things motivate me. A good meal. A long run. A fun song...

Listening to:
The Aluminum Group - Plano
Morrissey - First of the Gang To Die EP
The Polyphonic Spree - Together We Are Heavy
The Fiery Furnaces - Blueberry Boat

Oh, and if you have a second, stop by my friend's website. I just redesigned it so hopefully it looks good. Simple, clean, and minimal.
