Do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

At this moment...

Dear Rock & Roll music,

You kick some serious ass. Really. That's not to say I'll ever give up on indie pop. I'll always be a sucker for indie pop's DIY aesthetic. I'm sure I'll still listen to music that's delicate and sad and, well, somewhat fey from time-to-time, but for the foreseeable future I'm dedicating myself to Rock & Roll. Who you ask? Van Halen. The Rolling Stones. Pink Floyd. Led Zeppelin. The Who. Queen. And the ultimate musician, David Bowie. But no Kiss. I don't like Kiss at all. Well, maybe a song or two, especially the song dedicated to you. And definitely no Steppenwolf. Steppenwolf sucks, unless it?s the book by Hesse.

Rock & Roll, you should take a look at my iPhone. It's all you Rock & Roll. Sure, there's a bit of Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes on there too, but for the most part it's dedicated to you.

Rock & Roll you are power chords, over-the-top guitar solos and gonzo drum fills. You are songs about sex, drugs, the devil and all around mayhem.

Rock & Roll, I love that you don't take yourself seriously. You can be dumb. Dumb is good. You are music for the teenager that I still am.

So thank you Rock & Roll.

Yeah yeah. I haven't updated specbebop.com in months and months and months. Readership was down, so I figured why bother, right? In these past few months I married the most fantastically wonderful woman I have ever met. She brings me joy and picks me up when I'm feeling low. I also started a great new job, so I've been busy. At some point I'll post lots of photos.

Oh, and before I forget, I discovered some awesome bands like The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd and Yes. I must be getting old. None of the new bands are worth listening to these days.
